Ryan James McCort Obituary
Ryan James (RJ) McCort, born on September 14, 1975, in Wheeling, West Virginia, to James George and Margaret Mary (Dimmerling) McCort and passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
RJ lived a life marked by quiet strength and unwavering devotion to those he loved. His presence was a steady comfort and laughter for those who knew him. Whether through his work, his friendships, or his role within his family, RJ touched lives with sincerity and grace. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his thoughtful nature, and playful sense of humor.
RJ is survived by his two favorite people on the planet, his children, Mia and Ryder, his loving mother, Margaret McCort, his siblings and best friends Lisa (Teresa) McCort, Scott (Cathy) McCort, and Kim (Phil) Couch, nieces and nephews that he adored, Sarah and Sean McCort, and Anna and Sam Couch, many cousins, extended family and friends who will carry his spirit forward with love and pride. RJ is also survived by his partner in co-parenting, Michelle McCortand his in-laws the Trimmer family. He will be dearly missed.
RJ was preceded in death by his hero and father, James George McCort.
RJ's passions included Michigan Football, Bengals Football, golfing, gaming and most of all, cheering on his kids at their soccer games. He never missed an opportunity to see them play and the soccer community was an important part of his life.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025 from 4p - 7p at Dwayne R Spence Funeral Home located at 650 West Waterloo Street, Canal Winchester with a celebration of life beginning at 7p.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The American Heart Association, in RJ's memory.
