He is survived by: his wife Ellen J. Bloomstine Proverbs; his daughter Debra Watts of Colorado; his stepchildren, Deborah Rees of Frankfort, Kirsten Proverbs of Georgia, Thomas Proverbs (Sherri) of Southington and Linnea; his niece Patricia Shipley (Larry); and his nephew Jimmy Benge. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
