He was predeceased by: his parents, James P. Dunn and Mildred Dunn (Vahey); his wife Shirley Ann Allen; his children, Mary Dunn Brown and Robert Dunn; and his siblings, Richard Dunn, Margaret "Peg" Powers and Patricia Fagnano.
He is survived by: his children, Shirley Ann "Shan" Dunn of Canfield, Richard Dunn (Janice) of Austintown, James Dunn, Jr. (Jill) of Austintown and Barbara Lowe (Jim) of Youngstown; and his son-in-law Jeff Brown of Niles. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
