With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joan McCarthy Oles (Canfield, Ohio), born in Youngstown, Ohio, who passed away on January 13, 2026 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband John McCarthy; her parents, Leo Lyden and Clara Lyden (Lung); and her siblings, Leo P., Francis, J. Donald Lyden, Mary Cramb and Elaine Squillace.
She is survived by: her children, Kathleen Gibson (Don), Sheila Fassler (John), Maureen Rable (Brian), John V. (Janet), Mark (Polly) and Patrick McCarthy (Julie); and her sister Claranne McCloud.
