He was predeceased by: his parents, Emmett C. Shaffer and Agnes Shaffer (McCabe); his wife Barbara Shaffer (McClay); his daughter Maggie Arvidson; his grandchildren, Corrine and Charlie Shaffer; his siblings, Millicent Conrecode, Nelma Leslie (late Vince) and Emmett C. Shaffer (late Florence); and his siblings-in-law, MaryAnn Muncy (late Victor), Kathleen Jordan (late Clyde) and John McClay (late Barb).
He is survived by: his children, Terri Solomon (Walter) of Cincinnati, Carolyn Shaffer of Canfield, Barb Dilullo (Mario) of Boardman, Christine Elliott (Todd) of Cincinnati, Charles "C. K." Shaffer (Marie) of Austintown and Scott Shaffer (Amy) of Fort Thomas, KY; his sister-in-law Jayne Terlecky (Michael) of Massillon; his grandchildren, Jacob Solomon (Mimi), Joshua Shaffer Solomon, Michael Solomon, Justin Shaffer, Mario Dilullo (Mariah), Dominic Dilullo, Lucas McClay Arvidson, Jamie Arvidson, Abby Elliott (Austin), T. C. Elliott, J. P. Shaffer, Lyla Shaffer and Emma Claire Shaffer; and his great grandchild Molly Solomon.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Michael Roman Catholic Church (300 N Broad St, Canfield, OH 44406).
