He is survived by: his wife Laurie Zychowski Koontz; his siblings, Gregory Koontz (Polly) of Houston, James Koontz (Natalie) of Youngstown, Thomas Koontz (Karen) of Canfield and Colleen Collins of Hilton Head; and his siblings-in-law, Joni Gregg (Dave) of Greensburg, Jan Zychowski (Kathy) of Baden and David Zychowski (Linda) of Baden. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home - Boardman-Canfield Chapel (3701 Starr Centre Dr, Canfield, OH 44406). Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home Boardman-Canfield Chapel (3701 Starr Centre Dr, Canfield, OH 44406). A Mass will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Charles Church (7345 Westview Dr, Boardman, OH 44512). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Catherine of Siena Parish (199 McGovern Blvd, Glenwillard, PA 15046).
