He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Ferrell and F. Maxine Ferrell; and his son James Richard Ferrell II. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen "Kathy"; his daughter Julie; and his grandchildren, Allison, Bryce, Katlyn, James III, Willow, Elijah, Joseph, Caleb and Jonah. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
