He was predeceased by: his parents, Meindert Bruinsma and Neeltje Westra. He is survived by: his wife Agnes Bruinsma; his siblings, Doede Bruinsma, Aaltje Sijke Weilinga-Bruinsma and Pieter Bruinsma; his children, Michael Bruinsma, Shirley Searfoss (William) and Peter Bruinsma (Colleen); and his grandsons, Sean, Luke Searfoss and Nicholas Bruinsma.
