He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sweeney Sr. and Mable Sweeney (Hooper); his wife Gloria Sweeney (Dunlap); and his brothers, Charles "Pete" Sweeney, Larry Sweeney, Robert Sweeney and Jimmy Sweeney.
He is survived by: his daughters, Nikki Sweeney of Celina and Joy Sweeney of Celina; his brother John Sweeney (Lynn) of Celina; and his grandchildren, Layla Elokda, Mathew Griswold, Waylan Griswold and Aaron Kinstle. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Cisco Funeral Home (6921 State Rte 703, Celina, OH 45822). A memorial service was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
