He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Uppenkamp and Catherine Uppenkamp (Heyne); his wife Janet Marie Uppenkamp (Klingshirn); his son Robert "Shorty" Uppenkamp; and his siblings, Paul Uppenkamp and Rosalyn Fahncke.
He is survived by: his sons, Edward Uppenkamp, Jr. and Rick Uppenkamp (Therese); his grandchildren, Jamie Wright (Zakarij), Rebecca Uppenkamp, Erin Abels (Austin), Nicole Schwartz (Patrick) and Keith Schwartz (McKenzie); his close friend Karen Messner; and his sisters, Barbara Williams and Karen Brandehoff. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren.
