With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Robert Hume of Celina, Ohio, who passed away on January 15, 2026 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Milton Warren and Effie Lorraine Hume (Sisk); his spouse Kay Virginia Shipman; his stepfather Woodson Swindell; his children, Joe Warren Hume and Jodi Brandon; his brothers, Frank Swindell and Charles Swindell; his brother-in-law Mike Goodson; and his stepdaughter Kimberley Young.
He is survived by: his close friends, Dora Schimmoller, CelinaDaughters of Jolisa Hume, TX and Jennifer Hume; his stepchildren, Drs Kris Greenwood (Greg) of Dallas, TX and Kurt Eversman; his son-in-law Steve Brandon; and his brother Ron Hume of Mesa, AZ.. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, sister.
In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
