She was predeceased by: her father Rollie Russell; her sons, Michael Gates and Danny Gates; her daughter-in-law Nicla Gates; her siblings, Bill Schmidt, Bonnie Walls and Eva Lou Burd; and her granddaughters, Melissa Ann Gates and Teka Nichole McDowell.
She is survived by: her children, Rick Gates (Linda), Kim Gates and Vickie Black (Roger) of Celina; her grandchildren, April, Brandi, Brian, Jason, Nathan, Jessica, Amanda, Matthew, Joshua, Tosha, Kyle, Tiffany, Teddy, Shelby and Makayla; her brother Robert Schmidt; her niece Paula Ybarra (Mark); and her nephew Kevin Walls. She is also survived by 36 great-grandchildren.
