We bid farewell to William Albert Mertz of Celina, Ohio, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on August 19, 2024 at the age of 91. William touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Roman Mertz and Alice Mertz (Kanorr); his wife Shirley A. Schwieterman; his son William Mertz; and his brothers-in-law, Joe Prevish, Jim Hanson and Ray Olfky.

He is survived by: his children, Kathleen Schmidt (Bing) of Celina, Susan Leffler (Dean) of Dana Point, Deborah Whetstone (Jeff) of Wapakoneta, Lisa Mertz of Atlanta, Georgia, Nancy Roman (Alan) of Green Valley, Michael Mertz (Jackie) of Celina, Mary McFadden (Timothy) of Dana Point and Charles Mertz (Carol) of Celina. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Education Endowment Fund at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church 229 W. Anthony St. Celina, Ohio 45822.
