He was predeceased by: his parents, David Dockins and Linda Dockins; his grandmothers, Dorothy and Neola; and his uncle Steve.

He is survived by: his sons, Stephen R. Dockins and Michael D. Dockins; and his sisters, Pam and Kim. He is also survived by nieces, and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either Alter Knights Football Association or the Washington-Centerville Public Library Foundation Fund (#2461) through The Dayton Foundation.
