He was predeceased by: his son Don Mitchell Jr. Dear; his parents, Leonard Mitchell and Myrtle Mitchell; and his siblings, Richard Mitchell, Arthur Mitchell and Jean Shelton.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia "Pat" Mitchell (Sheridan); his daughters, Cynthia Osborne (Stanley), Jayne Beverly (Robert) and Jennifer Lindner (Jeffrey); his grandchildren, Katie, Patrice, Susie, John, Seth, Molly and Jimmy; and his great grandchildren, Charlotte, Aidynn, Peyton, Penelope, Ephraim, Maggie, Gregory, Maximus, Logan, Jonah, Lucy, Sergius, Diana, Theodore, Isaiah and Toby.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lord of Life Lutheran Church.
