He was predeceased by : his parents, Edwin C. Schmidt and Adele L. Schmidt; and his brother Richard F. Schmidt. He is survived by : his spouse Elyce Wygant; and his children, Heidi and E. J. Jr.. He is also survived by wife and children survive him, and his large extended family, including in-laws and many nephews, nieces, and grandnephews/nieces.
