Samuel left this world on January 24, 2026 at the age of 94, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Horwitz and Lena Horwitz; his son Michael Horwitz; his grandsons, Benjamin Harris and Adam Horwitz; and his brother Aaron Horwitz.
He is survived by: his wife Eva Marcks; his children, Colin Horwitz (Caroline Harris) and Naomi Glazer (Geoff); his grandchildren, Alex Gross (Cory), Norman Glazer (Michelle), Joshua Horwitz, Sarah Beller (Jared) and Spencer Horwitz; his great grandchildren, Ava, Dylan Gross, Cole, Emery Glazer and Benji Harris; and his son Jack of Children's Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Jack's memory to The Samuel J. Horwitz, MD Pediatric Learning Center, Hospice of Western Reserve, or the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC.
