He was predeceased by: his parents, Lonnie Smith, and Arlether Smith, Sr.; and his brothers, Lenon and Leotis Smith. He is survived by: his sisters, Eunice Orr, Lillie Kate Butler, Ora Lee Johnson, Florence Brindson and Deloris Williams; his son Andrew Taylor; his grandchildren, Chandler L. Taylor, III and Nay'omee Mason; his children, Charmaine Gibson (Robert) of Detroit, MI, Yalena Mason (Robert) of Canton, OH, Angelina Vincent (Gary) of Middletown, DE. and Chandler L. Taylor, Jr. (Ann Marie); and his sisters, Ethel May Tripp of Chicago, IL and Cola Wright of Cleveland, OH. He is also survived by his 17 grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews.
