He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph (Amelia "Mollie") and Kenneth; and his siblings, Gladys, Phyllis, Paul, Virginia and Patricia.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Daniels; his sons, Tom Safko (Cindy), Joseph Safko and Russ Safko (Paula); his grandchildren, Sarah Safko and Shane Safko; and his sister Pris Romano. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
