He was predeceased by : his parents, William Nelson "Sonny" and Dorothy; his wife Geraldine "Gerry" Zakany; and his siblings, Gerald, Carroll Chapman, Raymond Chapman, William Chapman and Lois Woodard.

He is survived by : his brother Ronald Chapman (Elaine) of Chardon, OH; his children, Mitchell Chapman (Sandra) of Gates Mills, OH, Daniel Chapman (Victoria) of Hambden Township, OH and Polly Marabito (Richard) of Gates Mills, OH; his grandchildren, Rebecca Chapman, Rachel Chapman (Gonzalo Evangelista), Reuben Chapman (Rebecca), Roodie Chapman, Michael Marabito and Joseph Marabito; his great grandchildren, João, Paulo Chapman and Lilliana Evangelista-Chapman; his close friends, Dr. Jon Floriano, Dr. Augustus Beck, Dr. Kurt Schneider, Ron and Elaine Chapman; and also, Harold and Mary Ellen Hedrick. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in memory of Lawrence L. Chapman to the Hambden Congregational Church, 13840 G.A.R. Highway, Chardon, OH 44024.
