It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Lea Yokum in Chardon, Ohio, born in Dry Fork, Virginia, who passed away on June 2, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid farewell to this luminous soul, let her loved ones carry forward the torch of her memory, illuminating the path ahead with the warmth of her love and the brilliance of her spirit. Though Mary Lea may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, her essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.
She was predeceased by: her siblings, Naomi, Savannah, Vallie, Tom, Willis and Oliver; and her parents, Pearlie White and Wilbert.
She is survived by: her children, Walter M. Yokum (Willie), Michael A. Yokum (Beth), Brenda K. Myers (Mike) and Norma Jane Gregory. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 at the Burr Funeral Home (116 South St, Chardon, OH 44024).
