He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Buffington and Delta Buffington; and his siblings, Ruth Elswick, Nancy Dennison, Melvin Toney, Pete Toney, Faye Rush, Junior Buffington, Jackie Buffington, Loretta Hapney, Dorothy Chapman, Eleanor Sue Walker and Denvil Buffington.
He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Buffington; his son Alexander O. Buffington (Lori); his granddaughters, Meranda Jade, Sydnee Paige and Rebekah Mae "Gracie" Buffington; and his sisters, Wanda D. Buffington (Bob) and Rena Lane (Richard).
