He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Jean Paynter; his sons, Jason Paynter (Wendy) and Robbie Joe Jr. Paynter (Christie); his grandchildren, Tristan, Emily, Cheylan Fox, Sidney and Logan Paynter; his siblings, Daron Paynter (Stephanie), Randy Paynter (Kathleen) and Deborah McCully of Pennsylvania; and his niece Stephanie LaPrad (George, family: Beverly Lambert). He is also survived by nieces and nephews and cousins.
