Melvyn Geoffrey Beard Obituary

We are sad to announce that, on February 7, 2026, at the age of 86, Melvyn Geoffrey Beard (Chesterland, Ohio) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Elsie May (Rosser) and Geoffrey Edward Beard; his son-in-law Phil Talbot; and his granddaughter Hannah Talbot Brunner. He is survived by: his wife Cordelia Smith; his children, Nancy Talbot, Jeffrey Beard, David Beard (Patricia), Jennifer Storey (John) and Amy Depa (Jeff); his grandchildren, Jack, Hallie Talbot, Gabriella, Kirsten, Carson Beard, Morrighan Daughtry (Kyle), Colleen, Bridget, Erin Storey, Madison and Mason Depa; his brother Noel Beard (Debra); and his friend Ervin Lake (Kelly). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Mel's name to Habitat for Humanity or the Veterans' Food Pantry in Chardon.
