He was predeceased by: his mother Beverly Thompson (Griffith); and his sister Elizabeth Principe. He is survived by: his father Santiago Hernandez; his children, James Dean Charles Hernandez Jr., Christopher Hernandez, Amber Marie Hernandez, Craig Hernandez and Krystle Ann Hernandez; and his siblings, Brian Thompson, Mario Hernandez, Victor Hernandez, Diana L. Holcomb and Kimberly Richerson.
