She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward William and Mattie Pearle Riner (Thomas); her husband Thomas; her siblings, George, Randolph, Theodore and Elizabeth Ann Riner; and her half-sister Venus Thomas.

She is survived by: her boyfriend David Slack; her children, Deborah Maggard of Columbus and Thomas Peyton of Cincinnati; her grandchildren, Shanna, Tisha, Justin, Josh, Thomas, Daniel and Drew; her great grandchildren, Maddie, Jason, Conner, Zander, Ryaleigh, Braylynn and Wyatt; and her sister Virginia Louise Riner. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Contributions in her memory may be given to American Cancer Society or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
