He was predeceased by: his mother Ruth Hunter; his wife Judith George; and his brothers, Lawrence Miller and Morris Miller. He is survived by: his children, Donald J. Hunter (Jeff Goodman), Richard Hunter (late Lori), Jo Clever (Gary) and Robert Hunter (Deanna); and his grandchildren, Lacey, Jake, Stefanie, Justin and Ryan. He is also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
