She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles M. W. and Eliza Johnson (Brandon); her husband Richard D. Payne Sr.; her siblings, Mary Margaret Barksdale and William Johnson (Mary); and her sister-in-law Donna Jean Johnson.
She is survived by: her children, Richard Payne Jr. (Kelli), Marcus S. Payne (Robin) and Lori J. Payne; her grandchildren, Jasmin Payne, Eryn L. Caldwell (Jason) and Dominique Vacheresse; her great grandchildren, Kennedy Belton Payne and Legend Dean Caldwell; her siblings, Delores Rogers (Bill) and Alfred "Bub" Johnson; and her nieces and nephews, Darla Johnson, Gwen White (Ron), Robert Barksdale (Anna), Terry Johnson, Debbie Johnson and Angela K. Payne. She is also survived by extended family members, and friends.
