It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James M Bowers Sr. of Chillicothe, Ohio, who passed away on July 28, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Muhrel Bowers and Daisy Beekman Bowers; his siblings, F. Irene Bowers, Robert E. Bowers and John Bowers; and his brother-in-law John Brown.
He is survived by: his sister Mary Bowers Brown; and his children, Terri Bowers of Chillicothe, James M. Bowers Jr. (Darla) of Chillicothe, John E. Bowers (Carolyn) of Chillicothe, Michael A. Bowers (Jill) of Chillicothe, Bobbi Groves of Chillicothe and Melinda L. Cochran (Randy) of Chillicothe. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Ware Funeral Home (121 W 2nd St, Chillicothe, OH 45601). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
