She was predeceased by: her parents, Lloyd Petty and Mildred Petty (Gates); her husband Fred Simon; her siblings, Louise Hoover and Lloyd (Buck Petty); and her stepgrandson Phillip McGill.
She is survived by: her children, Ray Henson (LaBrenda) of Trion, GA, Jane Cook (Doug) of Rockbridge, OH and Mark L Henson (Elyse) of Circleville, OH; her grandchildren, Steve Cook of Circleville, OH and Karen Cook of San Diego, CA; and her brother David Petty (Vernie) of Circleville, OH. She is also survived by numerous step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren.
