He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, David H. Trott and Virginia Trott; his wife Jennifer Howell Trott; his children, Alexandra Trott, Jacqueline Trott Spires (Matthew Spires), Buffy Trott Hanschka and Hays Trott Blinckmann; and his siblings, Stephen Trott and Sarah Trott of Seve.
