Alfonso Jefferson Huckleberry
January 14, 1945 – January 22, 2007
Saylor Park, Ohio
It is with love and honor that the family of Alfonso Jefferson Huckleberry announces his passing on January 22, 2007, at the age of 62. Alfonso was born on January 14, 1945, to Alphonso Huckleberry and Pauline (Hall) Huckleberry.
Alfonso was a man of deep creativity and natural talent. He was a gifted mechanic with an intuitive understanding of engines, a soulful cook who brought comfort and connection to those around him, and a man with an extraordinary green thumb. His gardens thrived, his meals warmed hearts, and his hands could repair, build, or create almost anything he imagined.
He lived a human life — imperfect, layered, and full of humor, strength, and quiet pride for the family who carries his legacy forward.
Alfonso is survived by his children:
Michelle L. Lackey (née Huckleberry),
Alfonso B. Huckleberry Sr.,
Katrice E. Ratliff (née Walton),
and Allison Jones (née Brightwell).
He is lovingly remembered by his grandchildren:
Alfonso B. II, Xavier, Christian Michael, Isabella,
Dedrick, Domanik, Alex, Avery, and Ayden,
each carrying pieces of his creativity, spirit, and bloodline.
He is also remembered by his siblings:
Georgia Mae Brown, Paulette Patricia Foster,
Mildred Lanette Johnson, Stephanie Ann Huckleberry,
Charles Thomas Huckleberry, and Jerome Wayne Huckleberry.
Alfonso’s legacy lives on through his children and grandchildren — artists, teachers, chefs, mechanics, and creators. His spirit continues in every generation that follows.
He will be forever loved and remembered.
