He is survived by: his wife Barbara "Bobbie" Caplin; his children, Pam Lippy (David), Audrey Caplin (David Belleli), Daniel Caplin (Sherry Klein) and Laurel Fritzhand (Aaron); his grandchildren, Courtney, Carly, Harrison, Adam, Jacob, Andrew, Hannah, Sophie, Zach, Max and Lexi; and his siblings, Beryl Caplin (Marydee) and Lily Small (Sheldon).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bikur Cholim of Cleveland.
