He was predeceased by: his father Jim Sargent; and his in-laws, Neal and Jean Collins. He is survived by: his wife Tammy Sargent; his children, Kristen Magaw (Eric), Karissa Heidel (Kory), Adam Sargent, Kaitlyn Armstead (Clayton) and Mya Sargent; his grandchildren, Kylee Magaw, Alivia Magaw, Emily Magaw, Addison Heidel, Chandler Armstead, Cameron Heidel, Maddox Armstead, Savannah Heidel, Jackson Armstead, Oakleigh Heidel and Landen Heidel; his mother Nancy Sargent; his sister Sherry Ellison; and his sisters-in-law, Cathy Huhn (Eric) and Cyndi Briggs (Tim). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
