She was predeceased by: her great-grandparent Momma Adeline Smith; her grandmother Katie Smith; her mother Princella Tye; her brothers, James Smith, Sr., William Smith, Sr. and Wallace Smith, Jr.; her granddaughter Mercedes Smith; and her brother-in-law Willie B. Laws.
She is survived by: her sons, Kevin and Shawn Laws; her granddaughters, Mariyanna McClaine of Atlanta, Georgia and Ella Laws of Beavercreek, Ohio; her siblings, Antonette Stevenson (Anthony), Yvette Tapplar (Larry), Vanessa Tye, Valerie Tye, Gloria Robinson, Prentess Flanagan, Sr. (Marilyn), Prince Kenneth Tye, Gregory Tye (Janice), Alvin Tye (Teresa) and Rodney Tye; her cousin Iola Simms; and her caregivers, Nicole Lawrence and Bobbie.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the New Life Missionary Baptist Church (6434 Simpson Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45224). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
