She was predeceased by: her parents, James Lukes and Margaret Lukes. She is survived by: her grandchildren, Luke, Grace, Sam, Ella, Will, Julia and James; her husband Lawrence J. Pongonis; her children, Kate Pongonis (Dave Foster), Stephen Pongonis (Jennifer Bantz), Anna Grome (Steve) and Maria Felblinger (Scott); and her sisters, Marilyn, Joannie and Barb.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Carole's name to IHM for the parish's twinning community - Batahola in Nicaragua, or to St. Francis Seraph Ministries in Cincinnati, Ohio, where Carole and Larry served as soup kitchen volunteers.
