She was predeceased by: her parents, Herbert Smedley and Darnella Moore. She is survived by: her boyfriend Michael Cruickson; her children, Valessia, Shenise, Michael, Monquael and Joshua; her godson Cash (Mir Carter); her siblings, Darrell Smedley, Circle Vanessa Carter, Olivia Cruickson, Roberta Foree and Yvette Colbert; and her grandchildren, Jahniya, Tony, Jamarion, Rachel, Tylen and Lawrence. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

She became sick shortly after with a diagnosis of early onset Alzheimer's in 2016.
