He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Smitson (Walt) and Zella Smitson. He is survived by: his wife Diane; his children, Charles Ricky Smitson Jr. (Jessica) and Rachel Rene Smitson (Troy); his stepsons, David Mattox (Heather) and Derrick Mattox (Sandy); his sister Debbie Johnson; and his brother-in-law Harlan Geier (Lee). He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
