He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Sr. Schaeffer and Lois Schaeffer. He is survived by: his wife Kathryn Jean Schaeffer; his children, Carisa A. McFadyen (David) and Kimberly M. Coutts (Jeffrey); his grandchildren, Caitlyn Elizabeth McFadyen, Jackson Wayne McFadyen, Nolan Gene Coutts, Olivia Catherine Coutts and Elena Caroline Coutts; and his siblings, Sharon Criss and Greg Schaeffer.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the E. C. Nurre Funeral Home (177 W Main St, Amelia, OH 45102). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
