He is survived by: his wife Blossom Widmer (Kreimer); his daughter Emily Venosa (Tony Venosa); his grandsons, Nick and Sam; his sister Mary Johnson; his nephew Jamie Johnson (Danielle); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Taylor and Alexander; his brother Tom; and his friend Paul Stein.

In lieu of flowers, his family asks for donations to The Nature Conservancy in Ohio.
