He was predeceased by: his wives, Mildred Inlow Wenninger and Theresa Weber Wenninger; his stepdaughter Deena Carr; and his sibling Thomas Wenninger. He is survived by: his children, Terry Wenninger and Christine McKain; his stepchildren, Dan Wheatley (Renee) and Lori Rowland (Jim); his grandchildren, Alexandra McKain, James Herzner, Tracey Herzner, Brittany Wheatley and Tricia Still; his great grandchildren, Isabella, Conner and Maggie; and his siblings, Ronald Wenninger and Judy Heintzman.
