He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Chipman and Cora M. Chipman (Tippenhauer); his wife Wanda JoAnn Chipman (Bladen); and his siblings, Robert, Carl Chipman, Dorothy Cutter, Violet Cook and Ruth Bailey.

He is survived by: his children, Marcia Sprague of Covington, KY and Rich Chipman (Laurie Carrig) of Cincinnati, OH; his grandchildren, Cristina, Timothy, Carmon, Joshua and Cassandra; his great grandchildren, Conner, Gavin, Caitlyn, Elijah and Lillian; and his brother-in-law Robert Bailey of Rising Sun, IN. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
