He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Patricia "Pat" Egbers; his sister Mary Joyce Egbers; his brother-in-law Rick Markesbery; and his parents, Robert William and Martha Metz Egbers.

He is survived by: his daughter Emily Coaker (Marty); his siblings-in-law, Judy Winstel (late Tom), Russ and Chris (Colleen); and his nieces and nephews, Tom Winstel (Carol), Ann Moran (Bill), Julie Lazarus (Steve), Mary Seaman (Tim), Jenny Brandt (Will), Joe Markesbery and Shannon Markesbery. He is also survived by great-nieces and great-nephews, countless cousins.
