He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Lou Hudepohl; his son James Edward Burke; and his brother Robert John Burke (Betty). He is survived by: his children, Pat Schaffer (late Marty), Pam Herman (late John), Jennifer Schmidt (Greg) and Jayne Snelling; and his grandchildren, Amy Crotty (Ed), Tom Herman, Julie Mullen (Brian), Chris Schaffer (Christa), Sarah Bolan (Brian), Matthew Schaffer (Heather), Michael Snelling (Carla), Eric Snelling (Maria), Jim Herman (Carolyn), Rachel Ortman (Eric), David Snelling, Adam Schmidt (Jen) and Lindsay Cowans (Dave). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
