Helen Rankin Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Rankin (Cincinnati, Ohio), born in Columbus, Georgia, who passed away on March 22, 2026, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her father Curtis Key; her former husband James W. Rankin; her husband William B. Merritt; and her brothers, Thermon Key (Ada) and Andrew Key (Ora).

She is survived by: her mother Connie Mae Key; her children, Sharron Moon (Roey), James W. Rankin Jr. (Nancy) and Connie Rankin Ross (Mister); her grandchildren, Tara (Khris), Ramon (Carmen), Kendall, Kia (Mike), Greg, Jared and Colin; her great grandchildren, Carson, Sunny and Layla; her goddaughter Donna Alexander; and her sisters-in-law, Ora Key and Ada Jimmar. She is also survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family.
