He is survived by: his sister Mary Schneider; his wife Sandy; and his children, Debi Lahav (Shmuel), Jon Zipperstein (Ellen) and Margie Stayton (Bob). He is also survived by nine grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

“I don’t know if you knew that Irv was a great dancer when he was a young man. He would practice the dance steps with my Mom as his partner. And take the Island Queen riverboat to Coney Island and dance the night away to swing music in Moonlite Gardens. I also remember Uncle Irv’s second Bar Mitzvah at the synagogue followed with a brunch and Scotch whiskey (the latter furnished to certain attendees by Bob Stayton). We will miss him. Liz and Kirk Sherwood”
