He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Niederhelman and Henrietta Niederhelman (Laschat); his wife Shirley Niederhelman; and his siblings, Ruth Drahmann, Larry, Robert and Walter Niederhelman.

He is survived by: his sons, John Niederhelman (Pamela Whitehorne) and Jerry Niederhelman (Kathy); his grandchildren, Molly Niederhelman and Sam Niederhelman (Alaina); and his great grandchild Natalie Niederhelman. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
