He was predeceased by: his parents, Katherine Prater and Ernest Prater; and his siblings, Joan Coleman, Phyllis Herzog and Ernie Prater.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria Alicia Villarreal; his daughter Debbie Mitchelson (Mark); his grandsons, Luke, Noah (June Kaewpiatao) and Max (Meg Selkey); his sisters, Jane Smith (Greg) and Frances Conner (Ron); and his sister-in-law Bonnie Villarreal (Tony).
