He was predeceased by: his wife Elizabeth "Liz" Bellew (Coker); his sisters, JoNell Bellew and Patty Sweeney; and his brothers-in-law, Larry Buckman and Todd Sweeney.
He is survived by: his sons, James Bellew, Jr. (Mary Helen) of Indianapolis, IN and Kevin Bellew (Sarah) of Wilmore, KY; his grandchildren, Hannah, Nathan, Margaret, Courage, Teresa, Lydia, Katherine and Caroline; his great grandchild Eden Elizabeth; and his siblings, Harry Bellew (Peggy), Mary Beth Buckman, Shirley Dieterle (George), Beverly Rudy (Joe) and Martha Abshier (Mark).
