He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Metzger and Katherine Metzger; his sisters, Kitty Davis and Sue Hazlett; and his granddaughter Elise Metzger.
He is survived by: his wife Hope Hainer Metzger; his children, David Metzger (Pamela), Sara Deveaux (Jon) and Erich Metzger; and his grandchildren, Eleanor, Katherine Deveaux, Sean and Dylan Metzger.
